Internal Discussion with a difference

I have been part of many internal discussions that we have regularly comprising of the proj incharges and the management. Where its the usual stuff of first being taken to task on various issues and then at the end the usual pep talk about this and that blah blah blah…. at the end making us feel so miserable.

So when the intimation for this weeks meeting came and I saw that all the employees of ESolz were invited to join in, i thought “Now what are going totake us to task in front of juniors”. I was a bit skeptical.

I hesitantly sat down to todays meeting, but what enfolded in the meeting I had never contemplated. It simply wowed me.

It started of with a discussion on our new site www.esolz.net and the reason behind redesigning and redeveloping it, and ventured into different topics

including an article in today’s local newspaper. The idea behind the discussion being to promote logical thinking among us and to provide solutions which enhances the end product of the client.

The interaction was so lively and open and everybody participated in it whole heartedly. Everybody could grasp the idea of how each one of us could improve oneself.

I was pretty happy at this change in format from the usual one and conveyed my thoughts to my Boss.

My Boss looked up at me, smiled and said  “The weekly dose is yet to be delivered”

I came out of his chamber with a pale face   :(

Hubub – The next gen webpage

Hello all

Developing Hubub, the next gen webpage which you can personalize and almost manage all activities from one single place. Its always a pleasure working with the client and we really hope to complete and launch this in maximum of 2 months from date. It has come a great way and we are putting in the best of efforts to have it online asap

A small brief about the project: Its a web based application which lets you create pages, have a mini browser, bookmark sites for easy use (like chrome), have social feeds and email aggregated in one single page. Users can have friends and interact with other, its again not another a social networking website but its a platform which each user to load and then operate all his work for the day (from Notes to widgets are all getting done keeping user interactivity in mind)

We will keep you posted about this

High level discussion again :)

Had a long and much awaited company meeting today where we all were to share the ideas of how to improve as nothing is perfect in the world. All of us were just spectators as the CEO spoke up and man what a person he is, its not that he does not let others speak but he puts across things in such a fashion that others are just speachless

We ultimately decided to give his thoughts a go and see what we can achieve with the same

Some points discussed were

1. 24 X 7 customer care, not development but atleast we should be reachable all the time (exceptions can be weekend but that is something we are going to plan as we go ahead)

2. Taking up ways to interact better with a much better telephone network installed in the office where even the coders can speak to the clients and have a system where our clients can reach them instanly

3. Planning for the new office all geared up with the innovation of having 12 hrs power backup which will help us to be available all the time, its difficult in India sometimes with all the power hickups everyday

4. Starting a Section for R&D, rather then having it project wise, we feel can help our development a lot. This R&D will be responsible for all new innovations in technology, for any help required by coders / designers as they move forward etc

5. To have a training section every month for motivating the staff, keeping them on there toes and helping them groom themselves, this again will be optional but we will encourage all to join in and share experiences

Finally he is growing old and that’s something good else every second girl is his FAN, sad to see that Facebook did the FAN concept and introduced like there but again its not far from being a fan of him

He is a true sweetheart and we wish the bonding between all of us continue the same way as it is and it just gets smoother and stronger. So its your birthday .. hmmmm .. so what to gift to a wonderful part of ESolz ? Please do suggest

Innovation with a difference

I almost get this question everyday that what is that you offer what others don’t

Well a very simple question but often simplicity is difficult to reach. I was thinking what would be my perfect answer to this question which is common to every company in web world. Lets analyze some small things:

1. Cost – hmmm I do not think we can at any point beat the pricing of firms which do not have any existence, but call themselves web development company as they do not have any standards, do not respect copyright, use cheap scripts, have people who does not even understand english and what not .. so here I would give myself a 3/10

2. Quality – Sure we do a high quality job but many others too, so what is different? Makes me think about it but surely I can rate ESolz at 9/10 on this point

3. Team – Another good point as we have a solid team which is dedicated. By dedicated I do not expect them to work 24 X 7, but we work smart and not hard. Might be you hook up with me the next night you go to pub as I party to its limit, I watch TV, spend time with my family and all. But again at work I am very serious and commited. So here again I would give ESolz a 9/10

4. Commitment – Yups we try our best to keep up to commitments but there can be reasons why one can slip from it, which clients even understands so giving myself another 9/10, wow I am on a roll

5. Innovation – Yes this is something which is a solid point, we advise clients what’s in and what’s not. Give them options to choose within the scope of how the navigation can be better, how the flow can be done in a much fruitful manner. I would rate ourself at 10/10 here

6. I thought a lot as what ESolz has what others do not and I came to a very simple answer ie me, Vik is something what none of other companies has. Not boosting anything about myself, trust me I am the most humble person on earth (exceptions excluded), but ya this is something for sure

Will keep the thought process on and keep posting what I can come up with more.

One of the Most Hectic Weeks at ESolz for ESolz

Running into 2 weeks now and we are still striving to complete our website The total process has been mind-blowing for us and mind-boggling and stressful for the designers and coders working behind it. The face-lift of the website that you will be seeing shortly is due to the extensive hard work, night and day by all the family members at ESolz. Hats off to all!! For example: It was really difficult to select just 800 logos from around 5800 logos, but Vik and his team made it possible and also helped in the categorization. We needed this to help our clients to track what they want. All the pages and sections are having an awesome feel to it and easy navigation. If you find any errors or mistakes do let us know, so that we can reach perfection. But at the end of the road, we see that we have done it!!! We have updated our site and Portfolio at last!!! Kudos!! to all at ESolz and all our clients who have already started sharing their thoughts. We have implemented them. Looking forth to more comments and suggestions. Thanks for your love and affection for ESolz

New face still in planning

Wow, what a difficult day today. Gathered a lot of feedbacks and testimonials from the client to host them on the new website. I never realized putting our main site would need so much patience, had to choose from the great work as to what can go on the site for display

It feels good to be the VP, but the it is not always easy. Yet another day when I could not make the site live. But whatever happens tomorrow It will be live lol. Seems to me like I am going for a war, but if it is let it be
